Entries are now open for the 2018 event which will take place on Saturday and Sunday 23rd and 24th June 2018 in Victoria Park in Belfast.

The Energia 24-hour race is the endurance race where competitors run as many laps of the 1,652 metre course as they can in 24 hours.

Energia, one of Ireland’s leading business and home energy suppliers, remains title sponsor for the 24-Hour National Championships in Belfast next summer. Energia has sponsored the race from the start, expanding its involvement out to 9 years.

Ed Smith, Director, Energia 24 Hour Race said, “We are delighted that Energia is back for another year. I guess you could say we both had the same ambition from the start and as the company has grown so has the race from very humble beginnings to the World Championships in 2017 when 40 nations came from around the globe and world and national records tumbled.”

“That will be a hard act to follow but we have proven now that we have a fast course that ultra-runners from home and abroad will want to race on and with the return of a 100k, 12-hour, and the popular 24-hour team relay we also have a wide range of choice for 2018.”

Michael Ringland, Energia’s PR and Events Manager, said, “The Energia 24 Hour Race is now an internationally renowned ultra-running event. We have been delighted to help to power the race from the beginning. The 2018 event is set to be the biggest and most-popular event yet, so get your entries in now.”
